From the Author

This is an 86,000 word novel about a unique superhero. Jeff Webster can teleport himself from one place to another by thinking of that location. He can move objects with his mind. He can create balls of flame out of thin air. He can affect the air and water around him. And he has an unearthly fascination with electricity and lightning. While Jeff is not invulnerable, he can do things normal people cannot and he is determined to save lives, no matter the risk to himself. For Jeff can be hurt by bullets or lasers. He needs to eat and sleep. Most of all, Jeff needs to find an escape from being the ultimate outsider, someone who can never be himself. Until he decides to rescue a group of women being held hostage by a radical Islamic terrorist. That rescue begins a chain of events that even Jeff did not anticipate.

From the Inside Flap

Trying to make sense of Jeff Webster and his actions as Green Mask, the superhero guy who frees hostages from terrorists, are new FBI agent Janet Van Groot, who works in the Counterintelligence Division of the agency's Washington D. C. headquarters. Also involved in figuring out Jeff are Valery Stockton, a psychiatric counselor in Santa Fe who helps Jeff deal with his unresolved grief over the recent death of his father. The third person trying to decipher the identity and motives of Jeff is FBI Deputy Director Andrew Steinbach, who becomes directly involved in each of the hostage rescues carried out by Jeff. He is determined to learn the identity of Green Mask and stop his interference in FBI hostage rescue efforts. But Jeff Webster is determined to keep his identity secret in order to figure out how he came to possess mental powers like teleportation, telekinesis, pyrokinesis and the ability to move objects with his mind. He will do what he has to do to stay unknown while doing his best to carry out his Mom's last words to him--"use your powers to help people."
