Description:

Sebastien de Castell's Traitor's Blade was compared to the high adventure tale of Dumas' Three Musketeers. Now in Greatcoat's Lament de Castell continues this dark swashbuckling tale of idealism and betrayal in a country crushed under the weight of its rulers' corruption. Beginning a few days after The horrifying murder of a duke and his family sends Falcio val Mond, swordsman and First Cantor of the Greatcoats in a deadly pursuit to capture the killer. But Falcio soon discovers his own life is in mortal danger from a poison administered as a final act of revenge by one of his deadliest enemies. As chaos and civil war begin to overtake the country, Falcio has precious little time left to stop those determined to destroy his homeland. ### Review "This is one hell of a good book. So many fantasies concentrate on the darkness in humanity these days. There's something to be said for that, if it's well done. Yet this is a book that reminds you that deep down, we want to have courage and honour - and we admire those who do. Hugely enjoyable throughout. 5 stars - well deserved." - Conn Iggulden, author of * The Dangerous Book for Boys “A wild dance of flights, treachery, and jaw-dropping surprises.” - Dave Duncan, author of *King of Swords “Sebastien de Castell combines the best of Joe Abercrombie and Alexandre Dumas. Riveting.” - Violette Malan, author of *Path of the Sun*** ### About the Author Sebastien de Castell had just finished a degree in Archaeology when he started work on his first job.
