Things are always different, and deeper, than they seem.
Torrance Baker has a good life, on the surface. Wealth, political power, and good friends that would do anything for him.
Or so one would imagine.
The death of his sister's lover, a civil war, and a new potentially devastating, death plague hangs over him however and threatens to plunge the kingdom of Noram into chaos if someone doesn't stop it.
Once again, it falls to him to use his power and position to save them all. Reality is about to become a lot clearer for him, however, as all of the secrets of his real origin are finally unveiled.
In the end, one thing is very clear; Tor isn't who, or what, he thought he was at all, and that fact will change the shape of his world, forever. **
From the Author
This is the seventh book for Tor and the ninth book in the Young Ancients series. Don't let that confuse you though. They read in the order they come out without jumping around at all. (There is a book list in the back of this book to get you started, and in the front of all the others. Really, it was getting too long, so I decided not to clutter everything up right at the start of the book this time. Let me know how you like it?)
I was doing some research over the last months, because someone mentioned that others (not that person... You get the idea, the "I have a friend with this problem" kind of thing? Anyway...) might not want to start a large series, finding it daunting.
That doesn't seem to be the case for most readers at all. What they told me (and I asked a lot of people!) was that they didn't want to risk starting a massive reading experience, getting invested and then finding out that the author, after twenty or thirty years and a dozen books, died on them, leaving it unfinished forever.
I can see that!
So, to that end, the current plan has four more books (full length, even long, novels) to come out this year. This will end the first arc in the series. There are two planned. The whole thing, which will be near thirty books when finished, should be out inside five years. Not the first arc, the whole series.
Also, to set peoples minds at ease: I'm not that old, and am in very good health.
So read away, safe in the knowledge that this will be coming fast and that your time will be well spent!
About the Author
I've long held that people don't really want to know too much about where their books, movies and television entertainments come from. After all, when you look too closely behind the curtain, you find people. Ones not always that different than you are.

I've long held that people don't really want to know too much about where their books, movies and television entertainments come from. After all, when you look too closely behind the curtain, you find people. Ones not always that different than you are.
Worse, sometimes they are.
I'm both. There, now you know something about me.
Enjoy the book.
